NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES - the largest and most beloved STEVIE NICKS fan
event in the world - returns to New York City's IRVING PLAZA on May 1
for its twenty-fifth annual edition. This marathon evening - produced by
THE JACKIE FACTORY - is one of those great New York City spectacles that
spark travel from all around the globe. The title of this milestone
edition and retrospective - TIMELESS - describes both The Goddess Nicks
and the show at its quarter-century mark.
Many of the 25th year cast have been invited to reprise one of their
most iconic performances from past editions. These rare highlights will
include VANGELINE THEATER's breathtaking BEAUTY AND THE BEAST butoh
ballet, the epic RED ROCKS STAND BACK homage from THE HO-HOS (CATHY
CERVENKA and JILL PANGALLO) and a half-dozen more. Other "Returning
Legends of Stevie Realness" are longtime crowd favorites SHERRY VINE,
JAZMEN FLOWERS (Mississipi), AMBER MARTIN, MACHINE DAZZLE, HEATHER
LITTEER, ST. EVE, GUSTY WINDS, JOHNNY QUINLAN, DARRELL THORNE, and
POISON EVE. Our newer arrivals from the past five years are THE RACHEL
KLEIN THEATRE, XAVIER and BRIDGET BARKAN, DARLINDA JUST DARLINDA and
SLEVY NICKS and FLEETWOOD MAXX.
This year's debut performers and
ensembles have been selected from dozens of would-be Stevies. They are
WHAT TIME IS IT, MR. FOX? (BOSTON) fronted by 3RIAN KING (they describe
their sound as "smoky cabaret, neo-soul and acoustic noir"),
Brooklyn-based experimental rock band IT WAS ROMANCE and its Stevie
Princess LANE MOORE, Florida-based singer/songwriter KYM LARSEN and BATH
SALTS nightlife creatrix SEVERELY MAME. Show founder CHI CHI VALENTI
returns to preside along with her fellow ENCHANTRESSES OF CEREMONY
including HATTIE HATHAWAY and EDITRIX ABBY and this year's superstar DJ
crew includes SAMMY JO, founding producer JOHNNY DYNELL, CRAIG SPENCER
and VJ TRE (D.C.) who opens the evening with a marvelous hour of his
rare multimedia and mixes.
SUGGESTED DRESS: Your Greatest NOTS Costuming (1991 to Present),
Surrealistic Stevie, Victorian Timepieces, Beltane High Priestess
Glamour, Classic Fleetwood "The Dance", Lace and Paper Flowers,
Important Capes, Dickensian Street Urchin, Best Hair In Rock 'N Roll,
Moon Motifs, Enchanted Eveningwear or Bird of Rhiannon vs White Winged
Dove. BYOT - Bring Your Own Tambo (Though of course we'll be throwing
ours!)
Neither a contest nor a karaoke show, NOTS is the Stevie Nicks celebration ne plus ultra - a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. The much-loved annual was born in 1991 at the tiny performance venue MOTHER at their weekly JACKIE 60. NOTS and its passionate audience inspired the feature film GYPSY 83 and even a "Jeopardy" question. Through the years NOTS has featured celebrated performers including DEBBIE HARRY, JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND, BOY GEORGE, THE CRYSTAL ARK, BASIL TWIST, CYNDI LAUPER, VANGELINE THEATER, JOEY ARIAS and many more. It has also launched generations of NOTS "Legends of Stevie Realness" including founding performer DEAN JOHNSON, perennial showstoppers THE HO-HOs and so many more.
NOTS VIDEO FROM STEVIE IN 2011
NOTS 21: THE WILD HEART was a Victorian heart-flavored edition inspired by one of Stevie's early albums - THE WILD HEART - and its title song. The show opened with a special surprise from The Goddess herself - a video message to all the NOTS attendees - watch it here!
The NOTS 25 invitation artwork is a Timeless homage to Stevie in the manner of RENE MAGRITTE. Designed by THE JACKIE FACTORY, the invite features one of our original NOTS performers - we'll never tell!

THE JACKIE FACTORY PRESENTED
NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES 24: SPELLBOUND
FRIDAY, MAY 9, 2014
IRVING PLAZA NYC
Thanks to the more-than-a thousand Stevies, Chiffonheads and Enchanted
Gypsies who turned out so beautifully on 5/9/14 for the twenty-fourth
annual NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES. The marathon evening - produced by THE
JACKIE FACTORY - moved to its sixth and largest venue - historic IRVING PLAZA in our home
neighborhood of Union Square. The theme - SPELLBOUND - paid homage to
Stevie Magic in all its many guises and songs - a magic that always
touches NOTS. The 24th edition was also inspired by Stevie's WELSH WITCH
persona, once again in the spotlight after her 2014 appearances on AMERICAN HORROR
STORY: COVEN.
A Stevie Spell was cast over the new NOTS stage and
ballroom, by "Legends of Stevie Realness" from all eras of the show and
a sprinkling of talented newcomers.
