WHAT ARE YOU DOING NEW YEARS?
OUR NYE 2010 PICKS FOR NEW YORK CITY
December 31, 2009 isn't just the turning of a year - it's the end of an entire
decade, a Blue Moon AND a Lunar Eclipse. Yes, New Year's Eve can be an
overpriced nightmare, but it doesn't have to be. We're here to help!
Though New Year's Eve in New York City clubs is often referred to as "amateur
night", it IS possible to spend a fabulous night out without breaking your
budget or being in a crowd of the clueless. We've been producing
and attending alternative New Year's Eve events in Gotham for years, and are
happy to share some tips. First of all, beware of ridiculously high cover
charges - they usually mean a crowd that you wouldn't want to rub shoulders
with, let alone bring in a new year. Secondly, avoid Times Square and midtown at
all costs - the events listed here will take you to neighborhoods where cabs
should still be available except at the absolute peak hours, and the streets
passable.

Under the cover of a Blue Moon, the Dark Party Collective NECROMANTIC brings you a New Year's Eve party that promises to "have our beloved creatures of the night
howling and reeling with wild and inebriated abandon" This evening of Goth, Synth and Wave features many of the scene's most hallowed DJs, including
FATHER JEFF, PATRICK, AENGEL, TEMPLAR and the GothDaddy DJ JASON of ABSOLUTION. This evening of Dark Delights takes place at another of the East Village's

Tranny Princess DINA DELICIOUS teams up with gay party Daddy DANIEL NARDICIO to take over LUCKY CHENGS for one night only, promising a zany, two floor funhouse of epic proportions. Upstairs, look for a festive dance hall replete with "trannies, drags and dregs" featuring ANITA GREENCARD, DINA D, PRINCESS DIANDRA, RUBY and all the "girls" who have made Cheng's notorious! Downstairs is "The Rabbit Hole" - a steamy Men Only "dirty disco" with 6 of Nardicio's signature dancers, including SHAY, JASON TYLER, TYLER MASON and OWEN HAWK.
