FROM THE VAMPIRE PROM TO THE GARDEN, JUNE EVENTS

After a whirlwind trip to Vienna for the epic LIFE BALL 2009 last month, we're back and well into the newly sultry season. Mid-June promises a nocturnal bouquet of small, medium and large gatherings - from private to extremely public. Deserving of special mention are PINK MARTINI at CARNEGIE HALL (June 18), the annual CONEY ISLAND MERMAID PARADE (June 20) and the special events listed below, from the NY PUBLIC LIBRARY'S annual ANTI-PROM to a special performance of CLAYWOMAN. We'll be back with a separate email for the end of June, including all of our GAY PRIDE events. Enjoy the beautiful evenings ahead and for dozens more carefully selected choices in artful NYC clubbing, visit our EDGE OF NIGHT forum on THE MOTHERBOARDS NYC - this is where the board's moderators place postings about nights of special interest to our audience.

objectifynyc.com

Once upon a time, New York nightlife was a bubbling cauldron of creativity - and producers THE BARONESS, EDITRIX ABBY, XRIS SMACK! and IRENE KAORU hope to stir it up again, monthly. OBJECTify strives for a resurgence of stimulating nightlife, and its four producers have long and distinguished clubland and spectacle pedigrees, among them SMACK!, CLICK + DRAG, THE BARONESS' FETISH RETINUE, GOMORRAH and BURNING MAN. This month is the third edition of this artsy/fetishy new Sunday monthly.

Embracing the Dadaist anti-aesthetic, each month OBJECTify obsesses about one particular OBJECT - June is THE SEXTANT so the evening's festivities should have a decidedly steampunk flair. This is also the official FIGMENT after-party and the special guest producer is Figment's NOT THAT DAVE. This unique party encourages guests to create, join, and inspire the evening's outcome, with artwork, performance, or costume, demonstrating the party theme. Participants are rewarded with reduced admission, and a shot for the $100 cash prize for the most inspired!

Participants include SEQUINETTE, ST. EVE, LILIANA VELASQUEZ, MACHINE SEX and MOLLY CRABAPPLE in go-go, tarot readings, opera, fashion, art installations, and music. Downstairs, in "THE RUBBER ROOM" presided over by The Baroness, there's music, dance, play, and inspired madness all in the evening's theme. Admission is FREE for Artists who bring 2D/3D art, offer a performance or otherwise compete for the $100 Cash Prize

SATURDAY JUNE 20
CLAYWOMAN RETURNS TO EARTH
LE PETIT VERSAILLES
346 EAST HOUSTON ST.@ AVENUE C
8 PM, FREE ADMISSION
LE PETIT VERSAILLES

THE MYSTERY OF CLAYWOMAN is written and performed by MICHAEL CAVADIAS and directed by ROB ROTH. Utilizing live performance and film, the piece combines the forms of a documentary screening and lecture to actualize the story of Claywoman, a 500-million year old enigma who, legend has it, can cure anyone of their deepest pain. After sold out performances at DEITCH PROJECTS, THE NEW MUSEUM FOR CONTEMPORARY ART and most recently opening for ANTONY AND THE JOHNSONS at TOWN HALL, Claywoman returns for a one night only performance at LE PETIT VERSAILLES.

This rare free performance blossoms new themes, ideas and characters in the beloved community garden on New York City's Lower East Side. A screening of "The Mystery of Claywoman" (featuring ALAN CUMMING, JUSTIN BOND, DEBBIE HARRY and AMY POEHLER) is followed by a lecture touching on subjects that involve our fragile planet and our evolution as a relatively new species. Described by PAPER MAGAZINE as "Funny, uncomfortable and depressing - in that order" and by MICHAEL MUSTO as "wildly witty", this next incarnation of the mystery that is Claywoman should be eye opening for all.
