THE JACKIE FACTORY PRESENTS
LOW LIFE @ HOWL
EARLY EVENING 5-7 PM
TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK
JACKIE FACTORY producers CHI CHI VALENTI and JOHNNY DYNELL create a brand-new spectacle - LOW LIFE - to crown
the HOWL! FESTIVAL 2007, presented by FEVA. LOW LIFE, named for
the LUC SANTE book, showcases The East Village - and especially, The Bowery - as the birthplace of Nightclub Performance
traditions from Vaudeville to Neo-Burlesque.
Expect period insanity and brilliance throughout as some of New York City's most exciting and influential latenight
performers pay homage to their creative roots. Highlights will include Queens of Burlesque DIRTY MARTINI and MISS
DELIRIUM TREMENS, Minstrel Madness from MICHAEL T, Goth Hearthrob VOLTAIRE, The Butoh Brothel with VANGELINE THEATER,
deadpan slapstick duo DUELLING BANKHEADS, Thesbian God/Goddess SWEETIE as BOSS TWEED, Bowery Tart TIGGER, DEAN JOHNSON as The Irish Cop,
ACID BETTY as The Bowery Belle, JACKIE 60 MCs HATTIE HATHAWAY and PAUL ALEXANDER, chorine choreography by JULIE ATLAS
MUZ starring JESSICA RABBIT and HEAVEN LEIGH DOMINATION with DARLINDA JUST DARLINDA, ROBERT LA FOSSE and his BROADWAY
B'HOYZ and TRINA ROSE.
Suggested Dress: NYC demimonde evening glamour (1860-2010), Gangs of New York, Victorian/Edwardian rags, newsboy caps,
B'hoy for Butch Women, corsets and vintage lingerie, Bowery Belle ringlets, Opium Den loungewear, Vampyre of Gotham,

THE JACKIE FACTORY is the NYC nightclub performance collective born at the seminal weekly JACKIE 60, spanning the decade
1990-2000 with nearly five hundred themed editions. Like their epic NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES (the world-famous STEVIE NICKS
camp-fest), LOW LIFE was also born of a single JACKIE 60 theme - LOW LIFE - THE DIVES OF OLD NEW YORK. Like Jackie 60s of Olde,
all attendees are being urged to dress in the Evening's Dress Code:
The Howl! Festival was named in honor of the groundbreaking poem by ALLEN GINSBERG and began in 2002. HOWL celebrates
the East Village and Lower East Side's role as a preeminent locus of culture, with signature events like the group
reading of HOWL on Friday 9/7 and ART AROUND THE PARK. Centered in Tompkins Square Park, the festival attracts more than
100,000 visitors bringing to the clubs, galleries, parks, streets, and theaters of Manhattan's Lower East Side.
It's now official - there is no WIGSTOCK this year, as part of HOWL (like in 2002-5) or anywhere else, as LADY BUNNY and CO. are enjoying the other pleasures of Summer! We are honored to be inheriting Wigstock's HOWL FESTIVAL slot, and hope the clacks of high-heeled size 14 pumps will guide us on our way!
