THE ANNUAL NYC CELEBRATION OF THE SPORTING LIFE
WELCOMED THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION TO MONEY-MAKIN' MANHATTAN
AUGUST 26, 2004 AT CROBAR
THE JACKIE FACTORY held their annual celebration of The Sporting Life
on the eve of the REPUBLICAN CONVENTION with a
political twist. The late August, 2004 edition celebrated "Heartland Hookers",
political sex scandals of all parties, and the inalienable right to
sexual freedom among consenting adults. A portion of proceeds benefitted the NEW YORK CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION and their
"Protecting Protest" storefront. HOOKER'S BALL 5 was held on CROBAR's
bunting-draped main stage that mimicked the convention setting, and starred
burlesque diva WORLD FAMOUS BOB and the HOUSE OF DOMINATION. Mainstage hijinks
centered around the annual COSTUME
COMPETITION, which awarded $250 cash to the best-dressed
STAR-SPANGLED MACK DADDY PIMP and PATROTIC SHOWGIRL HOOKER GLAMOUR.
New York's Glam Tribes REALLY showed up for this one!
Participants included JESSICA RABBIT, CONNIE GIRL FLEMING, AMBER RAY, VIVA and ADRIENNE DOMINATION,
reigning MISS EXOTIC WORLD DIRTY MARTINI, MISS KELLY WEBB, MISTRESS MIWA, the BOYS OF THE MARQUEE,
VINNE DAZZLE, PAUL ALEXANDER (of The Ones), LUI ANTINOUS, and costume contest winners DAVID ULTIMA
and KEISHA AVIANCE. Judges for the contest included local lights
MICHAEL MUSTO, PENNY ARCADE, LINDA SIMPSON, MISTRESS LEDA, JOHN POLLY and DANIEL NARDICCIO.
THE HOOKER'S BALL NYC was born in 1999 at the legendary weekly
JACKIE 60 to lament the end of streetwalking in the Meat Market. The ball
was held every year between 200-2004, including a 2003 New Year's Eve
